The results of the 46th International Physics Olympiad 2015 are a reflection of the value systems and meritocracy in different countries. Though one of the smaller countries in the world in terms of area and population, Korean electronic products and brands are world famous, while far larger countries like India do not have a world famous electronics brand. Taehyoung Kim of the Republic of Korea was the overall winner of the International Physics Olympiad 2015 and with the exception of one student from Russia and United states, most of the Top 14 students in the Olympiad were from Asia, or more precisely Far East Asia. It is clearly indicated the scientific temper in these countries as the emphasis is on promoting and rewarding merit in those countries.

International Physics Olympiad 2015 in Mumbai, India

The 46th International Physics Olympiad 2015 was held in Mumbai, India from 5th July 2015 to 12 July 2015. The competition was organized by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education,which is affiliated with the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.
The Government of India supported the Physics Olympiad 2015 through the following government organizations
Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)
Department of Science and Technology (DST)
Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD).

The physics olympiad for secondary school students consisted of theory and practicals with the total amount scored used to award gold, silver, bronze medals , More than 250 students from all over the world participated in the physics olympiad
