The results of the 46th International Physics Olympiad 2015 are a reflection of the value systems and meritocracy in different countries. Though one of the smaller countries in the world in terms of area and population, Korean electronic products and brands are world famous, while far larger countries like India do not have a world famous electronics brand. This probably during to rigorous academics and emphasis on merit in Far eastern countries like Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan.
Taehyoung Kim of the Republic of Korea was the overall winner of the International Physics Olympiad 2015 and with the exception of one student from Russia and United states, most of the Top 14 students in the Olympiad were from Asia, or more precisely Far East Asia. It is clearly indicated the scientific temper in these countries as the emphasis is on promoting and rewarding merit in those countries.
